Working Against The Clock: Crafting A Custom Corporate Gift
In 2020, what started as a business trip to Barbados landed us a new client, Sagicor, the largest and oldest insurance company in the Caribbean. A meeting with the buyer allowed us to share our gift ideas and showcase our promotional products, premium-branded merchandise, and custom corporate gifts. The Accent mission resonated with them, allowing us to witness the moment someone else fell in love with our ideas just as much as we have.

At first, it was just a few small orders. Little did we know this would lead to a rush order that would put us to the test. If you didn't know, Accent distributes to 20+ islands in the Caribbean; we look forward to working with clients such as Sagicor and showing off our superpowers.
A Last-Minute Gifting Request
It was around noon on December 18, and our team was beginning to wind down, getting ready to head into the holidays. Then we heard the phone ring; on the other end was the vice president of marketing of Sagicor with an urgent request for custom corporate gifts to be delivered before the holidays in Toronto, Canada. There was no time to waste; she outlined the three requirements we needed: the price point, the quantity, and the expectation that these were executive gifts.
A Challenge to Beat the Clock
As our clock began ticking, we were faced with some challenges. We had just four days to source, package, and deliver high-quality custom corporate gifts. We also had to present multiple corporate gift idea options to the client within the same day, before the end of the day. All of this is happening right in the middle of the busiest holiday season.
It was time to show off our superpowers in speed, creativity, and execution. Lucky for us, we rise to these challenges. We threw on our capes and began working.
Hour-by-Hour: Our Dedicated Effort to Deliver the Solution
To meet this demanding deadline, we didn't have time to waste. A dedicated team of three salespeople immediately dropped all other tasks to coordinate with manufacturers, verifying that they could produce and ship the gifts within three days while setting up an Accent presentation to showcase our custom corporate gift options to Sagicor.
Day 1: Rapid Preparation and Finalizing Selections
Two and a half hours later, the presentation was ready to share. Following the presentation, the team collaborated with the client to finalize the selection of items from various manufacturers.
By 7:45 PM, we were working out the specific details of the chosen products with Sagicor. Fifteen minutes later, the items were chosen, and all the details of the products were finalized.
Day 2: Confirmations, Approvals, and Launching Operations
Less than 12 hours after our initial call, the following day at 7:30 AM, the following morning, we had successfully confirmed the desired branding for each product and the designated shipping address with the client.
By 9:50 AM, the client formally approved the order confirmation, pushing us to take flight in operations and begin the fulfillment process.
At 10:15 AM, the operations team immediately contacted the suppliers to communicate the urgent order, emphasizing the critical nature of the delivery timeline. They requested immediate confirmation of their ability to meet the expedited shipping requirements.
Day 3: Intensive Follow-Up and Supplier Coordination
The next day our team was intensively following up and maintaining close communication with the suppliers, ensuring the timely and efficient progress of the order fulfillment.

Just three and a half days after our initial request call, the goods were successfully delivered to Toronto by Thursday, December 21st.
